Have had so much fun playing with Comic Strip Generator. I plan to use this in the library for my faculty newsletters and with the kids for displays. I wanted to post this cartoon because this is the look I get when I tell the students that the internet is down.

Thing # 10
Have had so much fun playing around with some of the great sites for this assignment. I used ImageChef to create the cool dude with the shaved head and the so cool message. Will post more later, I am going to catch up with Masterpiece Theatre and watch Northanger Abbey. If you are not watching Jane Austen on PBS, shame on you.

Thing #8
Okay, I finished reading all of the information on RSS feeds and set up my own Google Reader. I even linked my Reader to my iGoogle page. It is easy to get lost reading all of the news and fun stuff that I subscribed to as well as the library related blogs that I added as part of the assignment.
Sometimes it feels like I am swimming upstream and just can't seem to keep up with the ever changing world of technology around me. As a high school librarian I understand the necessity of these tools but feel that I am just playing catch up. I can see myself saving time reading all of the information I normally take time looking up all in one place. Students probably already use technology and would adapt to using it at school quickly. What a great way to link teacher blogs all to one page.

Thing #7
In case no one has noticed, Google is taking over the world. How did we ever survive without "googling". I have had so much fun exploring everything Google has available. Google notebook is something I want to teach my students to use. Only recently did I begin using it and have enjoyed it. Created my own iGoogle page with some of my favorite activities. Love, love, love to cook and art is one of my hobbies. Merged my Google calender to my iGoogle page so my family and friends could keep up with what is going on in our lives. I plan to play with it some more so I can add some of my recently uploaded Flickr pictures.

Thing #6
So many possibilites as I continue to explore Flikr. I even discovered that my youngest daughter has an account. Found some interesting pictures of myself that she had posted. I liked going over some of the toys. I really enjoyed the badge maker, CD cover creator and the trading card maker. Would love to use the badge maker with our library helpers. The trading card is not really my cup of tea but the kids would love it. We could probably have some kind of contest where we could have kids create their own card and we would judge the most creative. Endless possibilites.

Explored Flickr. WOW!!! Question? Where do people find the time to take so many pictures, and secondly to post and tag and belong to so many groups? Sometimes its all I can do to get home from work, make dinner and get ready for the next day. My pictures are more family centered and easily uploaded to Walgreens.
Thing # 4
My blog has been registered and I am officially participating in this online course. I wonder if there is anyone else from the Valley?
